What We Offer

David James is proud of its graduate programme. We are passionate about nurturing young chartered surveyors in an industry that is faced with more challenges than ever before. Now is the time to welcome innovation and new ideas. Many of our current staff have attended top universities specialising in rural studies and surveying. We offer the opportunity to gain your RICS qualification via two different routes.

See our current vacancies.

Graduate Pathway

If you have obtained a RICS accredited degree then we offer graduate positions with a varied role.  You will have the opportunity to build your knowledge in all the areas we cover such as land and rural property sales, planning and development, environmental schemes, commercial property valuation, compulsory purchase and compensation matters.

During your APC process you will be offered guidance and support which is made up of more individual one-to-one support and the opportunity to work with other graduates, newly qualified and more senior surveyors in the company.

We provide assistance and guidance in the preparation of your case study and submission documents and in the final stages of the APC process we will provide a number of mock interviews to ensure you are ready.

Alongside the RICS qualification we give graduates the opportunity to gain their qualification as Agricultural Valuer with the Central Association of Agricultural Valuers with the opportunity to attend a number of tutorials and an internal mock exam day.

Apprenticeship Pathway

We work with Harper Adams University to offer those who would like to leave full time education after A Levels the opportunity to gain a RICS accredited degree by studying part time whilst working with us. The course lasts 5 years and you will spend 8 weeks per academic year based at Harper Adams. Upon successful completion of the course, you will achieve a BSc (Hons) Rural Enterprise and Land Management degree and then progress to the APC for full Chartered Membership of the RICS as part of the End Point Assessment.
